CONTROL OF ISLANDS.
COUNTY JURISDICTION. (From Our Own Correspondent.) COROMAXDEL. Monday. The Comma mlel County Council was advised by the Internal Affairs Department to-day that it ha<l been ascertained that Mercury Island and other islands oIT the coast were not included in the county. Tt was stated that it was desirable that all land within territorial waters should be included within the lioundarios of a local district, and the council was asked to consider the inclusion of the islands in its boundaries. It was decided to take steps to include the islands.
