The Rodney Agricultural Society's liSth annual show'was held to-day in 'glorious weather, and the picturesque showgrounds, presented a colourful scene. There was a good attendance, which was greatly increased duriiij: the afternoon. The horse section ~roved to be of outstanding intcicst. including some splendid specimens of the heavy home breed, while the display of hacks and hunter*. some of which have come from distant parts nessed on the 'Warkworth mound's. tho classes, competitors in the limiting competitions being particularly numerous. Tn the cattle section the Jersey classes were, as usual, the largest, and some ! outstanding animals were paraded. Xcxt ill numbers were the milking Shorthorns. There was a splendid collection of the animals. Although competition ill the Fricsian section was restricted to only a few entries, the quality was excellent. Ayrshire were mole numerous than last year, indicating that thin useful bred is gaining in popularity. The sheep were a good representation of the activities of the breeders of the district and the high quality of their flocks. In the Roinney Marsh and Southdown classes a good' display was made, and in most cukes there ivm little between the placed sheep. The Lincoln classes were not so well supported. The indoor exhibits were not quite so numerous as in former years, possibly us a result of hesitation on the part of intending exhibitors in view of the recent epidemic- restrictions. Nevertheless, a good showing was made with exhibits of a high general standard, reflect!*!? the fertility of the district and the iSUustry of tho home. Dennis. Roinney Marsh.—Champion ram and ewe: H. P. McLcod. Southdowns. - Champion ram: S. Edwards and Son.
