The Australian surf life-saving team arrived from Auckland this morning, and was welcomed at Parliament Hou.se liv the Prime Minister, the lit. Hon. M. .]'. Slivnge. In replying to the welcome Mr. Cameron, the" manager of the team, mentioned that since the inauguration of the movement 33,000 lives ' had been saved on Australian beaches. Last season alone 300") people had been rescued.
Mr. Coira. president of the New Zealand Surf Life-saving Association, said the occasion was a red-letter one, as it was the first time a life-saving team from one country had visited another.
The championships are to take place at the Lyall Bay Beach on February 13 and 14,
