ORONSAY ARRIVES.

The popularity of cruises of luxury liners to New Zealand has not diminished, as is shown by the fact that the Orient liner Oronsay, which arrived this afternoon, has on board 870 passengers. The vessel is scheduled to sail at midnight to-morrow for Wellington.

As is customary with the arrival of such liners, a varied programme of visits has been arranged by the Tourist Department. Immediately the vessel berthed, 76 passengers left by motor car for the Waitomo Caves, where they will spend to-night. To-morrow they will go on to Rotorua and Wairakei, visiting the Chateau on Sunday and staying the night at Wanganui. They will rejoin the Oronsay at Wellington on Monday. A second party of 35 also went to the Waitomo Caves this afternoon. Tomorrow they will go to Rotorua, returning the same night to Auckland, and rejoining the vessel before it leaves for Wellington.

Rotorua will be a main attraction. Nearly 300 tourists will be taken there by special trains to-morrow. The first train, leaving at 7.45 a.m., will take 200 on a one-day trip. . They will have dinner at Frankton on the way back. • The second train leaves at .9 a.m., with some 80 passengers. They will spend the night at Rotorua, leaving on Sunday by motor car for Wairakei and the Chateau. On Monday they join a special train at National Park to go to Wellington. A small of the same party will leave the cithers at Taupo to visit Napier, whence they will travel to WellingttA by' train. Other tourist*, numbering about 100, will make'a one-day trip to Rotorua by motor'car to-morrow. , They will come back to Auckland in time to catch the Oronsay for Wellington. Besides these trips others have been arranged about Auckland for thoee who do not wish to go far afield.
