BACK TO FRONT.
CROWN ON WRONG WAY
Incident at Coronation of King Edward VII.
STORY or TENSE MOMENT.
United Press Association..—Copyright. (Received 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, February 4. - How King Edward VII. was crowned back to front is related by Mr. Lawrence Tanner, Keeper of the Monuments and Sub-Librarian at Westminster Abbey, in a speech at Westminster.
He said the crown was handed over with difficulty by the Dean of Westminster to the equally aged and iiafirm Archbishop of York. It was feared for a terrible moment that the latter would drop it. The crown shook abowe the King's head.
However, the Archbishop of Ytwk got it on, though back to front, hut that did not matter because everyone was thankful when the crown was actually on.
