Mr. Frank Cattell, of Wellington, is in Auckland on a business visit. Mr. James Fletcher arrived in Auckand t-iis morning by the Limited from the South. Mr. Hendry Luke returned to Auckand this morning after a short visit to Wellington. The Hon. W. W. Snodgrass, M.L.C., of S"el son, will return south to-night by :he Limited. The Hon. J. Alexander, of Auckland, ivill leave for the South to-night by :he Limited. Mr. A. W. Plank, M.Sc., of the staff of the chief engineer of the Post and Telegraph Department, has been transferred on promotion to the position of engineer in charge of the Pahnerston Xorth district. Commander .T. B. E. Hall, who recently relinquished command of H.M.S. Wellington, will sail from Wellington to-morrow by the Tainui for London. He is to return to the Home Fleet for service. Professor P. W. Burbidge. Professor of Physics at the Auckland University College. will sail from Auckland to-night, by the Wanganella for Australia. He will attend the universities' conference at Adelaide. * Group Captain Keith H. Park. M.C., D.F.C., of Dunedin. has been appointed air Aide-de-Camp to the King in the vacancy created by the promotion of Air-Commodore R. Leckie, D.5.0., D.S.C., D.F.C., to air rank. The Hon. E. H. Angelo, M.L.C., of Perth, West Australia, together with Mrs. and Miss Angelo, arrived by the Wanganella on Wednesday. They are Vn a few weks' visit to New Zealand, and are staying at the Central Hotel. Professor W. A. Sewell, who holds the ?hair of English at the Auckland University College, leaves for Australia on Sunday as the representative from the Auckland College, to the conference of the Australasian Universities, to be shortly held at Adelaide. He will be iway about three weeks. The Minister of Internal Affairs, the Hon. W. E. Parry, left Wellington by the Limited last night for Frankton Junction. He visited Matamata to-day, and ivill travel to Rotorua to-morrow to deai with matters connected with the fisheries branch of the Internal Affairs Department, returning to Wellington in a few iays. Canon Wilfrid Williams. He will enter upon his new duties early in March. Major E. F. W. Mackenzie, Royal A rmj Medical Corps, England, a son of the late Dr. F. Wallace Mackenzie, formerly of Wellington, has been awarded the Parkes Memorial Prize for scientific research. The prize is awarded annually to the officer who is considered to have accomplished most in promoting the advancement of naval or niilitarv hygiene. The Hon. Eliot R. Davis, M.L.C, will leave to-night by the Wanganella for Sydney, en route to Japan, America and England. Mr. Davis, who will be accompanied by Mrs. Davis, will be away for about six months, and will visit his mother, Mrs. Moss Davis, in London. Mr. Davis is consul for Japan in Auckland. and during his stay in that country will interest himseif in reciprocal trade matters.
