Notifications of infectious diseases in the Auckland central health district last month totalled 43, as compared with 45 in the previous month and 49 in January last year. Included in the total were seven cases of tuberculosis, four of scarlet fever and three of diphtheria. There were only four cases of infectious diseases in the Thame*;-Tauranga district. One was of scarlet fever and one of diphtheria.
