ROWING.

ASSOCIATION REGATTA. FULL. PROGRAMME OF EIGHTS OX TAMAKI COURSE TO-MORROW. To-morrow afternoon on the Tnmakl Drive course the Auckland Rowing Association will liolU Its annual regatta. More than usual interest is attached to this gala as It will be the first occasion in the Dominion that a full programme of eiglitoar class events will be presented. The association has adopted a progressive policy regarding eiglit-oar racing during the last few years, and this programme in its jubilee year can be claimed the association's most ambitious efTort. It was originally Intended to hold the regatta on the calm waters of the Whau Estuary, but a series of circumstances at the eleventh hour, through the inability to secure bersres for the transport of boats, compelled the officials to change the venue of the racing to the iiarbour course. This unfortunate happening to the association will, however, have other compensations, and the opportunity it offers to the general public to view In comfort and at the minimum Inconvenience of travel this spectacular type of rowing should do much to claim a greater public interest in the sport. From 2 p.m. until 5 p.m.. at close intervals, the races will be rowed, an'! with good water conditions visitors to the Tamak' Drive" will not have many idle moments. The draw for positions has aroused a lot of interest and the advent of er»ws from the country clubs gives a greater impetus to the racing.
