MORE PEOPLE FLYING.
COOK STRAIT AIR SERVICE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) NELSON, this day. Daring January Cook Strait Airways had a record month, carrying 1695 paying passengers. The previous record was in December, when 1344 passengers were carried. In January of last year, the first month of the service, 985 passengers were carried. The large number of trips made may be gauged in a measure by the fact that six passengers only can be carried, and as weight is the greatest consideration, if members of the more sturdy section of the population happen to want to travel at the same time, the number of passengers is reduced to four.
