HEATED-UP BREAD.
The Government lias fixed the retail price at which bread can be sold. Has it a heavy penalty for the unscrupulous baker who ! dampens the unsold bread and then reheats it for sale? It would seem that inspector* are urgently required to visit shops and catch euch offenders as supply their agent? with this class of "fresh" bread. One loaf purchased by me to-day (in the middle of the afternoon) was damp and uneatable. Two people to whom it was shown, including the ehopkeeper, admitted it to be uneatable. For safety I tried another kind of ]oaf. This second loaf, upon getting home, I found suspect. It will be suitable, although expensive fowl food. INDIGNANT.
