REOPENING OF SCHOOLS.
HARDSHIPS OF DELAY. (To the Editor.) The announcement made that school* vffi not open until March will come as a seven blow to many sections of the community. Not* withstanding the adverse and caustic fst mente from many notable authorities, a policy of publicity and isolation out of all proportion to the virulence of the disease has beta followed. Children have had a sad holiday and their mothers are faced with another month of holidays. A large body of relieving teachers is thrown out of employment and will receive no salary until schools start. Is thie the policy of the Labour Government? During the last epidemic teachers returned to their schools and got in touch with many of the children, giving out lessons and receiving answers, very often going from house to house. All teachers should be eent back te their schools, and the relieving teachers appointed, so that no undue hardship may endure for any section of the community. JUSTICE.
