YACHTSMEN RESCUED.
LIFEBOAT CREW'S STRUGGLE.] By TelegrapTi.—Own Correspondent.) CHRISTCHURCH," Wednesday. Unable to launch the motor lifeboat on account of the low tide, a Sunnier lifeboat crew found themselves faced with a difficult task when the Z class sailing boat Waterwiteh, sailed by Messrs. F. Mansou and N. Churchill, got into difficulties off Taylor's Mistake. The rescue had to be made with the old boat, and the pull back against wind j and tide, with the two yachtsmen in the boat and a good deal of water shipped, fully tested the powers of the rescuers. After the two yachtsmen had been taken off the Waterwiteh the yacht drifted to the Suniner bar and capsized. An effort to bring it in by Mr. M. Candy, of the Sumner Club, who swam out with a belt, was unsuccessful. Finally the motor lifeboat, launched when the tide came in, towed the Waterwitch to safety.
