W. GALLAGHER IN FORM.
R. TAYLOR ALSO TAKES DOUBLE. Many spectators were at the Papatoetoe .Stadium on Tuesday evening. W. Gallagher is n member of whom to be proud; in his usual oasy style he carried off another double win. and just missed winning the 150 yd!*, which would have made it a triple win for him. In the 370 yds. which Gallajrhrr won. Ball and (both scratch) fousht ir out for secoml place. iMmt week's "dark horse." A. Coldlcutt. ran from scratch and came a good third in the 220 yds. He shows a remarkable burst of spoed for a buy of 15 years. Miss V. Grice. a new member, on the first night in running shoes, won her heat in the 75yds, £ot a third In the final, and a second in the final of the 100 yds. She shows distinct promise. Miss Reekie, of tho Hamilton Club, wag competing in the field as well as running events. A ladies' half-mile cycle race was held for the lirst time this season. There were three competitors, and they roile well indeed. In the men's wheel races, R. Taylor rode a brilliant mile to win by a spectacular burst o£ speed from scratch. H« had a double victory, coming in to a fine finish in both races. If he can retain his form he should have every chance lor the New Zealaml sprint championships this yea r. evening will be the Papatoetoe Club's Transport Cup open meeting.
