LICENSING OFFENCES.

MORRINSVILLE, Wednesday.

Fines and Court costs amounting to close on £200 resulted from numerous prosecutions for breaches of the Liceris"ing Act heard in the Morrinsville Magistrate's Court to-day before Mr. S. L. Patcrson, S.M. All the defendants pleaded guilty.

For selling wine at Tatuanui on January 31 without being the holder of a license, Ivan John Nola was fined JEIO on each of two charges.

Five youths, ajjed from 18 to 20, who had procured wine from Nola, pleaded guilty to disorderly behaviour in Thames Street, Morrinsville, after midnight on Saturday. The magistrate convicted them and placed them on probation with special conditions that they must not go to public dances or consume intoxicating liquor.

Douglas Armstrong, a young man from Waitakaruru, who pleaded guilty to two charges of aiding and abetting in the sale of wine outeide the Patetonga Hall on December 21, was fined £12 10s oil each charge.

Norman Keith Evans, who admitted supplying a keg of beer to two natives «t Patetonga, on January 15, Lut said he had promised them beer at the end of their haymaking work for him, was nnpd £15 on each of two charges. Sidney John Phillips, who pleaded puilty of supplying five gallons of beer to the eame natives at" Patetonga on January 10, but pleaded that he merely carried it out in his vehicle, was fined ,'£3o.

Seven Maoris residing at Patctonjra, had obtained kegs of beer from Evans and Phillips, and had consumed the liquor and become disorderly, were prosecuted for supplying liquor to other natives. Fines of £2 10/ on each of several charges against each Maori defendant were inposed.
