SANDWICH FILLINGS.
Tomato sandwiches are usually popular, but they are rather troublesome to make on account of skinning the toma- *!„. ° follow >*>g mixture is excellent for filling sandwiches as it may be made m advance ready for emergencies. After peeling the tomatoes soak them in vinegar for about 12 hours. Then drain them J!? £*? •? Bimmer in the fo "<>*" ln*H £ "2- 11 HiS thick and P«'Py and of a spreading consistency. The following quantities are sufficient for five pounds of tomatoes: One pound and a t it *° v, engar, , a pineh of «*yenne, one nalf-tableepoonful of ealt, two pints of vinegar, and a few cloves and a little allspice tied in muslin. This tomato mixture is excellent to serve with flaked haddock for supper.
