■ The opinion that the Auckland Metropolitan Milk Council Was doing ita best -to carry out its duties was. expressed last night at a meeting of the Birkenhead Borough ; Council by the Mayor; Mf. E. J. Oeborne* xThe matter arose when a reply from the Minister of Industries and Commerce, the Hon. D. G. Sullivan, to a resolution passed at a, public meeting at Birkenhead protesting against the zoning system of milk: areas being applied to Birkenhead, was received. ,<The Minister stated that it was apparent that certain anomalies had occurred, but that theee would' shortly be satisfactorily adjusted. "The Government is sincere in its efforts," said Mr. Oaborne, "and we should give the council a fair trial." A motion that the council should support the Takapuna Council in a protest against the zoning system being applied to the North Shore district was put to the meeting, but was defeated after •ome discussion by six voes to four.
