LOXDON*. January 30. The "Daily Telegraph" says the Royal and Ancient Golf Club shortly will ban the heavy niblick nicknamed the "s;nnlwedge blaster." or the "howitzer."' which was invented in America ami which is popular with all golfers, because it enables extraordinary, recoveries to be made from bunkers and roughs without much skill or effort.
It is understood that the Royal and Ancient Club is .timing to prevent "buying a shot over the counter" jirnl will specify that any cbib is illepnl with a sfile thicker than h.-ilf an inch, or «itli the front ciig«uot flush with the ground.
