LORRY OVERTURNS.
BOY PASSENGER INJURED. SPECTACULAR NEWTON CRASH. A boy, Noel Fussell, understood to be a visitor to Auckland, suffered minor injuries in a spectacular motor accident in France' Street, Newton, this morning, when an ice cream truck in which he, was riding capsized while swerving to avoid a boy on a tricycle. Fussell received cuts on his head and arm, and was treated at the Auckland Hospital, where he was taken in a St. John ambulance. Eye-witnesses said that the truck was being driven up France Street towards Karangahape Road. At the bend where Canada Street branches off it swerved outwards, apparently to avoid hitting a small boy who was crossing the road son a tricycle. Reaching the other side of the road, however, the truck topnled over on to its side, where it lay wedied against the front of a parked car. a new model. Tt evidently also grazed a telegraph pole nearby. Damage to neither vehicle appeared extensive, although the cab of. the truck was splintered and glass was :broken. The driver, Mr. H. Keane, escaped with abrasions. Eye-witnesses considered his action in swerving the truck saved the child from probable serious injury.
