BIG WOOL SALE.

CHRISTCHURCH ON MONDAY. OFFERING 30,000 BALES. Japanese influence may make or mar •the second Christchurch wool sale, which will be held on Monday. After a period of inactivity in the Dominion following the settlement of the AustralianJapanese trade dispute, Japanese buyers were again operating at the recent Auckland sale with an appreciable elTect on values. Included in the offering for the Christchurch sale are types of line wool sought by Japan and it is likely that this will prove an inducement to Japanese buying. It is considered that, even without Japanese competition, the sale should be a good one for the line wools which comprise the bulk of the offering. The allocation for the sale lias been fixed at 30,092 bales, leaving thousands of bales in store for the next sale. Clips have been rushed in this year, and the amount of wool coining forward has been swollen by the addition, in a number of cases, of clips for the past one or two seasons, held back till better prices ruled. The offering includes most of the main ewe clips, and a number of the choice special lines. A littlr crossbred and Merino will also be rj'ered. The wool 'is heavier than that offered at the first? Christchurch sale. Early-shorn clips are light and attractive, but later clips show weathering.
