SCOUT MOVEMENT.
Total in 49 Countries Now 2,592,832. FINANCIAL DIFFICULTIES. (Received 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, January 29. It is reported in the annual report of the Boy Scouts' Association that the number of scouts in 49 recognised countries increased by B(»,SG9 to 2,592,832 in 1930. The number of scouts in the Empire increased by 72,717 to 1,011,930, but the total in the British Isles decreased by 2985 to 445,411. The report reveals serious financial difficulties. Expenditure in Britain exceeds income by £8225, and the movement is at present living on capital. Annual subscriptions totalled only £000.
