Broadwood, North Auck'und. Dear Peter Pan— I received your welcome letter safely, and it made me excited when I read it. Of course, it would make me disappointed if the wonderful trip did not come true. 1 have never been to Auckland, so it would amuse me to be there going up and down the streets with you seeing things that I have never seen before. (We'll certainly do that, Mat.) are 10 far from main roads and it i» hard to go to places like Kaitaia and Broadwood. We are about 28 miles from Kaitaia and I 2 miles from Broadwood. We enjoy ourselves here and have a happy time. Where we are now very hilly country and wherever wo look there is very thick fern. The name of our district was Herekino North, but it has now been renamed Waiotehue. ( One thing I hope is that the trip does come true, so we may have a wonderful time together. A big cheerio 4 . On Boxing Day we went to the sports at Houhora, and last Sunday we went for a picnic out on the NinetyMile Beach, West Coast. We had our big picnic at Houhora on December 12. Four schools were put together and we had races, calf competitions and lots of other things. There are a lot of farms up this way. We have quite a big farm and it looks very nice, too. Our shed has eight bails in it and eight of us are milking. We are milking 60 cows, and next year we will be milking about 80 to 90. Our school is only a small school. We just have to run over a little hill and down a straight and then we are there. Now while we are having our Christinas holidays we have a lot of fun doing the hay. We must close now.
