DUTCH.

(Sent in by Joyce Lothian, Albany.) All the fields in Holland Are bright with coloured flower®, All the clocks in Holland Chime at quarter hours. All the little houses there Have nicely painted doors, With tiles upon the cooking stoves, And tiles upon the floors. The little boy® in Holland Wear silver-buttoned coats, They walk about upon the quays, And help to sail the boats. The little girls wear cap? of lace, And skirts of woollen stuff. They think that five or six of these Are just about enough. There are no hills in Holland, And scarcely any trees, The roads are full of water, With barges full of cheese. The cows wear little jackets, To keep them warm and sound, And there are windmills everywhere, All going round and round.

SUMMER TIME. (By Eric* McNamara, Wangaaul.) Wlustling through the branches, Singing 'inongst the leaves. Singing songs of summer Swept a happy breeze. He sang of cherry blossom, In countries far away. He told of brooks that murmured. And trees that by them sway. He spoke of snow-capped mountains, And valleys deep and wide, Of forests, hills, and. plainlands, And sun-kissed country side. He sang of rushing rivers. And lakes where wild-fowl call; Of heaving, white-capped breakers, And dancing waterfall. And when the moon came peeping A tired little breeze, He hushed his voice'to whispers, And dreamed amidst the trees.
