SIX HOLLYWOOD BEAUTY SECRETS.
No. 3: THE EYES AND LIPS — A BRUSH AND PENCIL JOB 1 : Madge Evans, attractive film player, believes the way to feminine facial beauty is via the pencil and brush route. To enhance her eyes, the studio make-up expert applies a light coat of brown pcncil to the eyebrows. The pencil ia applied lightly, following the natural lire of the brows. 2: The application of eye shadow is extremely important. Miss Evans uses a light coat of grey shadow above and around her eyes. In order to achieve a becoming air of naturalness, a narrow camel's hair brush is used to tone down the eye shadow. 3: Another brush this one soft and wide is employed to get the maximum effect from the use of rouge. The cosmetic is applied high on the cheek bone before powdering and blended with a soft move* ment of the brush. 4: Studio make-up artists say the only way to use lipstick satisfactorily is with a narrow lip brush, following the natural contour of the lips. Miss Evans applies her lipstick before she powders to ensure that no excess rouge is left on the lips. 5: When eyes, lips, cheeks and neckline have received attention, Miss Evans brings her final beautifier into play a soft camel's hair face briish with which she removes all excess powder. A gentle downward movement is employed, so as not to powder up the eyebrows and lashes.
