TOWARD EAST CAPE.—Although through bad weather during the holidays the road to the East Cape received a bad advertisement, competent judges believe that when its improvement is completed it will be one of the finest scenic highways in New Zealand. Above are glimpses of the kind of scenery which the motorist, striking in from Tauranga or Rotorua, may ex pec* to see mile after mile. The panorama is of Ohope Beach, near Whakatane; below are views along the coast between Opotiki and East Cape.
