At the January meeting of the Tuai Women's Institute the roll call was "Why I joined the Institute." The sewing competition was a patch on a garment, a.nd was won by Mrs. Dawson. The cooking was a plain wheat meal loaf, Mrs. Eban being first. The most artistic jar of flowers was won by Mrs. Chatfield. Mrs. Eban demonstrated how to make rugs from woollen material on rug canvas, and Mrs. Bumstead showed 3iow to make organdie petal novelties.
