GOOD COMPANIONS.
The usual weekly social was held in the clubroonis of the Good Companions on Thursday. Monologues by Mr. Mc-Kensie-Wilson, musical renderings by Mr. Jacobs (violinist) and Mr. Williams (the blind pianist) were thoroughly enjoyed. Of special interest was the "Theme Song," written and composed by Mr. Williams, emphasising the virtues of being a "Good Companion." In the absence of Mrs. Reeves, Mrs. Sutcliffe and daughters provided an excellent supper. The president, Mr. C. Russell, organised the games and competitions, and was ably assisted by Mrs. Fagen and Mr. Franklin, jun. The prizewinners included Mesdames Torby and Marks. Miss Jean Sutcliffe, Mr. Bennett, and Mr. Franklin, jun. Mrs. Addis and Mrs. King were the hostesses of the evening.
