BRITISH MACHINERY.
DELAY IN DELIVERY. HANDICAP TO INDUSTRY. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Friday. "There is no doubt at all that Wellington manufacturers, like Canterbury manufacturers, are handicapped by their inability to secure the delivery of equipment from British manufacturers," said Mr. Nisbet, secretary of the Wellington Manufacturers' Association to-day. "We have had various complaints from our members of their inability to procure British machine tools and other equipment necessary to their business and of the difficulty they are placed ill by British manufacturers and their agents not being able to guarantee delivery under twelve months." Mr. Nisbet said members of the association did not regard the position lightly and the whole matter would be discussed at a meeting early next week.
