ELECTRICAL TREATMENT.
ILLNESS OF THE POPE. (Received 10.30 a.m.) VATICAN CITY, January 27. The Pope underwent short-wave electrical treatment in order to counter defective circulation in his hands and shoulders. The apparatus consisted of a box containing an electric motor and bulbs made of gold quartz. It is stated that circulation was restored. IN CHICKEN COOP. GIRL HELD PRISONER. JERUSALEM, January 22. The story of a young American girl who was held prisoner in a chicken coop and robbed of an inheritance of £2500, was told in the Criminal Court. The girl, Miss Haye Rubin, half-naked and half-starved during her imprison- ] ment, was driven almost insane. i
It was said in Court that the girl came to Palestine several years ago when 17, and inherited the money from her parents.
A psychiatrist who had treated the girl for headaches, is accused of having held tlic girl prisoner with a view to securing her money.
