BOXING.

NEXT MONDAY'S BOUT.

IMPRESSIVE TRAIXIXG WORK

Boxing enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating the match between Young Gildo, the Filipino feather-weight, r.nd Al Stock, New Zealand lightweight ,to be held at the Town Hall on Monday evening, and judging by the interest shown in the training of both fighters there is likely to be a bumper house. Gildo has the reputation of being one of the cleverest boxers imported here for some time, and his exhibition at Auckland Gymnasium last evening fully bore out this contention. He boxed one round with five different sparring partners, and displayed splendid nngcraft. His timing and hitting left little to be desired, and there is no doubt that the little fighter is in tip top condition.

Auckland patrons have already seen the wiry Al Stock in action when he mixed it with Archie Hughes. He has shown plenty of ability in work-outs, and his hard hitting is one of the mainstays of us attack. He has been training" very hard since the match was made, and is improving after every training task. Stock added to his already extensive knowledge of ringcraft by the experience Me received when spurring with the negro, Leo Kelly. Tt should be a grand h'jiht. with both contestants straining every nerve to gain the judge's verdict.

Box plans are open at Watts' Sporte Depot.
