MILK COUNCIL.
ELECTION OF MEMBERS.
IXTKRKST IX QUESTION'.
The second election of members of the Auckland Metropolitan Milk Council will be held on February 24 next, when the members appointed will hold office for two vears.
Under the Auckland Metropolitan Milk Act, 1933, it is provided that the Auckland City Council shall hold a meeting and appoint three representatives to be members of the council. It is further provided that no person having any pecuniary interest in the production, treatment, distribution, or sale of milk shall be eligible for appointment to the council.
It is proposed that the City Council should hold a special meeting on Wednesday, February 24, for the purpose of appointing its representatives. Considerable interest attaches to the position in view of the i;:ct that the present representatives of the council, Messrs. U. W. Hutchison (chairman) H P Burton and S. Takle, were appointed bv a previous council, which did not consist predominantly of Labour members On th.s occasion it is practically certain that the councils representatives will be chosen from the ranks of the Labour councillors.
