LONDON WOOL SALES. KEEN HOME DEMAND. (Received - p.m.) LONDON. January 26. At the London wool sales 8224 baLs were offered, including 2ffiS from Xew Zealand, and 6753 were sold. There was a moderate selection and a keen demand, mainly from the home trade. Withdrawals were more general.

Xew Zealand wool sold included grcasv crosisbred, Kuapa, top price 18d, averag? 16'/id.

RUBBER QUOTA. INCREASED TO 85 PER CENT. (Received 10 a.m.) LONDON, January 26. The International Rubber Committee has tixed the exportable rubber quantity for July-September at 85 per cent of the basic quota. It is explained that there is a desire to maintain a supply adequate to consumers' needs. The price (if spot rose five-sixteenths to 10 9-16 d per lb following the statement.

CANADIAN WHEAT. OTTAWA, January 25. It is announced that the British Government has suspended the 6 cents preference on shipments to the United Kingdom, of Canadian wheat which lias hecn stored in United States elevators. It had been the practice to ship grain so stored back to Canada for transhipment from a Canadian port but the new rule denies preference to such shipments.

SYDNEY WOOL SALES. SYDNEY, January 26. At the Sydney wool sales to-day 12.405 bales wore offered and 11,090 were sold. Also 1279 bales were sold privately. Under strong general competition the market was very firm at lull late rates for best descriptions. Also tliere was wider demand for all other grades, except short, faulty, fleece and skirtings. Greasy Merino sold to 36% d.

WORLD WHEAT PRICES. LONDON", January 25. Wheat cargoes are steady and parcels quiet. Futures: London. January. 43,0 per quarter; May. 43/1. Liverpool. March, 8/3% per cental; May. 8/5; July, 8/5%. Chicago. May, 128% cents per bushel; July, 113%; September, 109%.
