A WELCOME CHANGE.
RISE IN WOOL. (By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.") NAPIER, this day. Returns to growers from the last wool sale in Napier on January 16 reached £690,000, far exceeding the yield from any other auction since the buoyant days of 1922-28. The disposal amounted to 30,000 bales at an average of £23 per bale.
The total return of £690,000 otters a refreshing contrast with sums of £200,000 and even less, which were almost regular proceeds for so many years from 1931 onwards.
