NEW TRANSMITTING STATION FORMALLY OPENED.—The Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage, who, in addition to being Prime Minister, carries the portfolio of Minister of Broadcasting, declaring the new 60 kilowatt transmitting station at Titahi Bay officially open on Monday night. Seated behind Mr. Savage are Professor Shelley, Director of Broadcasting, and Mr. H. D. Vickery, chairman of the Broadcasting Board, which -was abolished last year by Act of Parliament.
