BRITISH FILM WASTE.
OVER-SPENDING CRISIS
LONDON, January 8,
It is reliably reported that the British film industry--is facing a crisis owing to losses which have totalled £2,000,000 in the pa9t year. Two banks have refused to make more loans. It is likely that a receiver will be appointed to -take over the affairs of one big group of producers.
The "Daily Herald" film critic says there has been absurd over-spending and waste. Pictures have been inade, at a cost of from £100,000 to £150,000, on unpopular subjects.
