TULIPS.
The tulip is the. most showy and gorgeous of all spring flowering bulbs, and has been a favourite in gardens for many years. Around Auckland tha tulip is not grown to a great extent. Probably our springs are too bright, and the result is the blooms do not last so long as in cooler climates. The Darwin and Cottage, or late flowering tulips, are the classes to which the Auckland climate is best suited. Their great range of colour, from flaming scarlet to the most delicate shades of pink, mauve and orange, together with their length of stem and s turd in ess of growth, render them lit subjects for almost any position.
