WELLINGTON ZOO.
TIGER CUBS ARRIVE.
(By Telejrrapn.—Press Association.)
WELLINGTON, this dav
Two tiger cuj>s, both believed to be females, which arrived by the Narbada from India as a gift to the Wellington Zoo by Captain A. G. Mathew, of Kirkee, Poona, were taken from the ship this morning and released in a fine roomy cage by the - curator. They showed every evidence of pleasure at finding solid ground under their feet and immediately started to gambol and play like kittens.
During the voyage they had practically the free ruii of the ship and grew rapidly, apparently nearly doubling their weight to about 1001b. At first they were playthings to the passengers in the Narbada, but, as they grew, torn trouser legs and some torn stockings caused them to be treated with more circumspection. They are still playful, but the curator. Mr. Langridge, "savs that this will pass oft as they grow to maturity and no liberties will then be possible.
