A well attended and greatly enjoyed outing was held on Boxing Day. Lunch and tea were provided in the open. On the return to the hall games and community singing were indulged in. Happy parties of men sat down to special teas on Christmas and New Year Sunday. Svine service and community singing hymns followed. Several parties of men were taken sight-seeing on various occasions to the War Memorial Museum and Mount Eden. The men were all presented with "diddy" bags made by the women members of various Church guilds. ChristBias pudding and cakes were also supplied by friends and greatly appreciated by the men. An interesting sidelight on the cosmopolitan character of 'the work carried on by the British Sailors' Society is the fact that the men present at the service and community singing of hymns on New Year Sunday t came from New Zealand, Sydney, England, Scotland, Ire-j land, s Zanzibar, New . York, Durban; Johannesburg, Bombay, Calcutta, pore, Federated Malay States, Rangoon, Palmerston Island and Samoa.
