POLLARD PRICES HIGHER. The shortage of local pollard roa become' more serious since lust report, and prices are up 10/ a ton. Most of the merchants are doing business in Australian. Demand is steady for bran, and with good supplies prices have not altered. Graded fowl wheat is very difficult to procure, and business is confincd mainly to ungraded, which is firmly held. The Government announcement of the new season's wheat prices is eagerly awaited. Maize is in very short supply, and business i« restricted on account of the high prices. The new season's quotations for Australian barley are very high, making imports difficult. Meanwhile merchants are depending on store stock. Oats and chaff ure very quiet, and values steady. Supplies of Canadian onions are now sold out, but new season's local supplies are increasing. Many are immature, but with fine weather an Improvement in quality and a reduction of price are expected.
