ACCIDENT VICTIMS.
MOTOR CYCLIST HURT. BOY INJURES SKULL. Concussion and injuries to the skull were suffered by Miss Ellen Sutherland, of 3, Springfield Street, Morningside, when she fell down some steps at her home yesterday. She was admitted to the Auckland Hospital in a St. John ambulance at 9.40 last night, and was reported this morning to be in a serious condition, though making improvement. When at play at his home yesterday, a small boy, George Lenihan Laing, aged 7, of 40, Warwick Avenue, Grey Lvnn, suffered injuries to the base of the skull, and was admitted to the Auckland Hospital in a fairly serious condition. A motor cyclist, Mr. Ronald Beeston aged 21, of 16, Ara Street, Remuera. suffered a compound fracture of the right leg when the motor cycle he was riding skidded on the wet road and came into collision with a motor car, on Thursday about 3.15 p.m., near Pokeno. He was attended to by Dr. F. W. Lumsden. of Pukekohe. and taken to the Auckland Hospital in a St. John ambulance. He is progressing favourably. Slight concussion was* suffered by Mr. Colin Hooton, a confectioner, aged 21, of West View Road, Grey Lynn, when »>o slipped on the pavement in Queen Street at 2 a.m. yesterday. He was conveyed ti the Auckland Hospital in a St. John ambulance, and his condition is satisfactory. Fractures of the thigh through falling at their homes were sustained by Mrs. D. L. Mcintosh, of 24. Brentwood Avenue, Mount Eden, and Mrs. Annie Jones, of 9a, Enfield Street, Mount Eden, who were admit tM to the Auckland Hospital yesterday. The condition of each is not serious.
