INCREASED BUSINESS.
■ ■ P. AND T. DEPARTMENT. TELEGRAPHIC COMMUNICATIONS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Friday. Returns received from the chief post offices throughout the Dominion reveal that an all-round increase in telegraphic "business occurred during Christmas week. The following figures show the increases in the number of telegrams lodged at the chief offices during the period December 21 to December 24, J936, inclusive, compared with the four working days prior to Christmas of last year (last year's figures being given in • parentheses): All codes, including greetings, 231,794 (201,751), an increase of 30,043 or 14.8 per cent; commercial teleJgrams, 81,051 (73,133), an increase of 7918, or 10.8 per cent; greetings telegrams, 150,743 (128,619), an increase of 22,125, or 17 per cent.
