MARTON MEETING. THE FIRST DAT. DUNGARVAN WINS CHIEF EVENT. (By Telegraph.—Tress Association) MARTON, Friday. In spite of heavy rain from 3 o'clock onward, the totalizator increased £1378 on tlie first day of the Marton Jockey Club*s meeting to-day, the investments amounting to £14,909 10/, compared with £13,331 10/ last year. The morning was fine arid hot, and the attendance was large. A short, heavy downpour after the second race cleared for the third event, but recommenced as the cup was about to start, accompanied by a violent thunderstorm. The track was heavy, and there were many scratchings in consequence. Results:— MiIDEN PLATE of £100.
