AUCKLAND TROTS.

THE FINAL DAY. SUCCESS OF RED SHADOW. PRINCE PEDRO WINS SPRINT. Rain fell throughout the final day of the Auckland Trotting Club's meeting, and conditions were very unfavourable. The course was very heavy. At one stage a mist enveloped the course, and it was impossible to distinguish the horses as they went along the back stretch. A warm favourite in Red Shadow was responsible for a fine performance in the Bledisloe Handicap disposing of the opposition in effortless style in the straight. Derby Lu and Corrianda were in good form, while the heavy conditions suited Prince Pedro admirably. During the day the totalisator handled £18,618, compared with £10,374 10/ last year, an increase of £2243 10/.
