KING REY AGAIN. LEGATEE SURPRISES. Beats Greek Gold in Goodwood —Sylvia to Trilliarch. The weather Is brilliantly fine for the' final day of the Auckland Racing Club's summer meeting at Ellerslie, and there is a large attendance. The track is holding after recent rain*. Favourites Vail. Royal Appellant and Light Comedy did not parade for the Goodwood Handicap, and when the final figures were adjusted the best baeked were Kilonsa (£1505) .and Tybalt (£1187), but the winner turned up in the tenth fancy, Legatee, who carried only £211. Kilonsa and Legatee got the worst of the start, and when they had settled down along the back Greek Gold had charge from Haut Monde, Martara, Sinking Fund, Tybalt,. Winlona, Gay Broney, Kilonsa, Lofty and Legatee. Martara then ran to the front, and wag attended across the top by Greek Gold, Haut Monde, Tybalt, Sinking Fund, Winlona, Gay Broney and Kilonea. The order into the straight was Martara, Greek Gold, Tybalt, Winlona, Haut Monde and ■' Legatee, and then the last named came through, and staying on well went on to beat Greek Gold by half a length with Kilonsa three-quarters of a length away third. Winlona was fourth and then followed Gay Broney, Tybalt, Lofty, Martara, Haut Monde, and Sinking Fund. The Juveniles. Brunhildo, carrying £1811, was a strong favourite for the Sylvia Handicap, while Relative was also accorded solid backing, while the eventual winner Trilliarch, had £751 invested upon him. Money Raid was first to move, but Relative soon took, charge, and when they settled down was showing the way to Brunhilde, Trilliarch, Money Raid, Airam and Aero King. Brunhilde soon headed Relative, and the | order round the home turn was Brunhilde, Trilliarch, Money Raid, Relative, Aero King and Airam. At the distance Trilliarch was the leader, and finishing on well hung on to beat Brunhilde by three-quarters of a length, with Relative a length and a half away. Aero King was fourth and then came Royal Bachelor, Money Raid, and Airam. A Double Winner. : v All went to the post for the GrandI 'stand Handicap, and in a good betting race most support was accorded Royal ' Appellant ( £1802), Polity ( £1545) and King Ray ( £1406). When the field raced past the stands Royal Appellant was in the van, from Ponty, King Bey, Wait and See, and Knight of Australia, while Armacourt, Scotland, Light Comedy and Kelly were racing abreast, next. Ponty took charge as they went but of the straight, and led along the back from King Key, Kelly, Royal Appellant, Wait and See, Scotland, Knight '.'•'.'■ of Australia, Armacourt, Light Comedy and Master Brierly. The order was the same as they crossed the top s,tretch, and. Ponty was just in front as the straight was reached, with Royal Appellant and Kelly together, next, and then followed King Rey, Knight of Australia, Scotland and Armacourt. Once in Kne King Rey challenged, and he did best to win by three-quarters of a length from Ponty, who beat Royal Appellant by a length and a half. Scotland was fourth, and then finished Armacourt, Master Brierley, Waft and See, Kelly, Knight of Australia and Light Comedy.
