INDIAN'S DEVICE.
Slotted Wing Invention for Safer Flying. IN LANDING AND STALLS. (Received 12 noon.) LONDON, January 1. An Indian, Phiroze Nazir, holding the Government of India's teronautical research scholarship, has invented a wing device which "The Times" aeronautical correspondent thinks will greatly contribute to safety in flying, especially in landing. The device opens a slot in the after-part of the wing, some distance from the trailing edge, when the flap is depressed, resulting in the creation of an air circulation about the after-part of the wing. The invention also delavs stalling up to remarkable angles of incidence.
