AUCKLAND RACES. THE SECOND DAY. iFields for To-morrow —-The Form Reviewed. , The summer meeting of the Auckland Racing Club will be continued at Ellerslie to-morrow, and with the exception of the King's Plate good fields are engaged. Prospects are for fine weather and a fast track. The Openino Event. Proceedings will commence with the Fergusson Handicap, for which ten are carded. Winlona was third in the Robinson Handicap on Boxing Day, and should again go well. Rulette won that event easily, and the extra furlong should not stop her. Rollicker made a fair showing in the Queen's Plate, and is a likely improver. Fox Moth was fourth in the Robinson Handicap, and King Neptune won at his last start, and being a fresh horse he should go well. Pennycomequick, Roaming and Gay Sister have the best credentials of the others. A trio that may be fancied are RULETTE KING NEPTUNE ROLLICKER. The Weight-for-Age Race. OnJy five remain in the King's Plate, a weigh t-f or-age event run over a mile. Cuddle, after being successful in the Auckland Cup last year, won this event, and should again go well to-morrow. Triune >jas won up to a mile, but is also engaged in the Electric Handicap later in the day. Plato raced well at Trentham and Riccarton recently, but is also in the Summer Cup. Oratory has scored up to a mile, and after her second in the Railway Handicap on Saturday will not be neglected. Custos has not much form this season. The favourites may be

CUDDLE ORATORY. The Jumpers. Erination, who is at the head of the Ponsonby Hurdles, ran a fair race on Saturday, while Modern Maid went out at the first fence. She looks well, and may do better to-morrow. Merry Lap is a useful hurdler, and is a possibility. Indolent won from end to end on Saturday, and his prospects appear bright. High Quality,- who ran second to Indolent, should again go well. Kanapa does not appeal, but Irish Comet is a good jumper, and may effect a surprise. The bulk of the money may come for INDOLENT HIGH QUALITY MODERN MAID. The Summer Cup. Some first-class performers figure in the Summer Cup, and a good race should result. Mazir and Royal Appellant, who are equal topweighte, can both run out a solid ten furlongs, and should be in the money. Jonathan has failed repeatedly this season, and will have to improve to win. Kingoßey is a fit horse, and Won last month on this course. Ponty's latest track work indicates that he will be dangerous. Plato has an earlier engagement, while Werohia does not appeal as much as Sinking Fund, who has been awarded a similar weight. Crooning, Armacourt and Mungatoon will also have to be considered. The chief selections may be MAZIR ROYAL APPELLANT PONTY. The Criterion. Several speedy two-year-olds figure in the Criterion Handicap, and Bachelor King, despite his weight, should run well. Greenwich ran a good race in the Great Northern Foal Stakes on Saturday, and should show ur> in this class. Aiwai has plenty of speed, though The Crooner, who won the Nursery Handicap easily, should hold her safe. Nuclei was a winner at the Takapuna meeting, and will have to be considered. Girl Pat finished third on Saturday, and the race should benefit her. Of the others, Beverley, Trilliareh and Royal Bachelor read best. The form horses are THE CROONER GREENWICH BACHELOR KING. Waitemata Handicap. The largest field of the day has been paid up for in the Waitemata Handicap, a hack event run over a mile and a quarter. The topweight, Loofnbination, has been in the money recently, and should see out the distance. Cerne Abbas ran third on Saturday over a mile, and the longer journey will suit her. Quadroon was a winner at the Waipa meeting, where Vera Acre finished third to her. Both have prospects. Valise and Small Boy failed on the first day, but the latter won over ten furlongs at Poverty Bay, and should show up to-morrow. Lofty won over five furlongs in the South, and his breeding suggests good staying ability. Survoy has failed reneatedly, although he has plenty of pace. Of the others Aymon, Full o' Scotch and Salva read best. The favourites may be CERNE ABBAS VERA ACRE SMALL BOY. The Open Sprint. After her success in the Railway Handicap Adalene will have plenty of friends in the Electric -Handicap while Royal Dance, who ran third in that event, is likely to be improved. Impasto, Triune and Galilee are smart sprinters, with a preference for Triune. Pakanui failed on Saturday, and Trench Fight, who has been showing signs of soreness, may not be at his best. Of the others, Mangukaha, Sweet Rose, Tybalt and Golden Blonde may appeal most. The best backed may be ROYAL DANCE ADALENE TRIUNE.
