COMING OPERA SEASON. . No less than nine operas are to be staged during the approaching season of the J. C. Williamson, Limited, Comic Opera Company, which is to be limited to 13 nights, and will be inaugurated by two productions of the tuneful Gilbert and Sullivan opera," The Gondoliers." On Wednesday and Thursday nights and Wednesday afternoon, December 30 and i 31, "Pi inccss Ida" is to be staged, and on Friday and Saturday nights and Friday afternoon. January 1 and 2. "The Mikado" will be produced. On Saturday afternoon, January '2. "The Gondoliers" will be repeated, and on Monday, January 4, "Ruddigore" will be revived. During the season there will also be staged "Paul Jones," "lolanthe," "The Yeomen of the Guard," "The Pirates of Penzance" and "Lilac Time." Special interest will be centred in the reappearance here of the brilliant soprano singer. Strella Wilson, who last toured New Zealand in the leading role of "The Vagabond King." Evelyn Hall. Australian contralto, will make lier debut here in the role of the Duchess of Plaza 'Loro. Ivan Menzies will again take, chief comedy roles. Others in the company are Godfrey Stirling. Gregory Stroud. Eileen Kelly, Richard Watson. Bernard Manning, Helen Langton, Clifford Cowley, Tommy Jay and Vincent, McMurray. As a result of a fall at his home yesterday, Mr. George William Harnett, aged To, married, of 410, New North Road. Kingsland, suffered a fracture of the th'gli and w-as admitted to the Auckland Hospital. His condition is not serious.
