Folk Of All Nations.

Difficulties Of Competitors. There are certain costumes, representative of little people overseas, that are no doubt familiar to our readers, the kimono of Japan and the wooden clogs of Holland being typical examples. Our last competition should therefore have presented no difficulty to entrants when it came to deciding most of the countries represented in the picture. In a number of cases, however, the Spanish dancer, with her tambourine and typical fringed shawl, was repeatedly mistaken for a Mexican. Had this been so the artist would have depicted her wearing the native sombrero peculiar to this race. Again, the Egyptian boy wearing his fez was constantly referred to as a 1 urk, Indian and Italian. During the process of judging it was noticeable that most Budgetites appeared to have found the latter portion of the competition more difficult than the former. Numbers 9to 1 2 were seldom placed coriectly on any list. A correct solution is published in our page to-day, enabling leaders to see exactly where they were wrong. ' No one succeeded in submitting an entirely correct solution, the highest number coming from Marjorie Shone, of Otorohanga, who had a total of 13. Others tied for second place with 12.
