AUCKLAND PRESBYTERY.
ONEHTJNGA CHTTRCH CALi.. The Auckland Presbytery met last evening at St. David's Church, the Moderator, Mr. H. B. Burnett, presiding. The presbytery extended its congratulations to" the Rev. Benjamin Hutson, who recently celebrated his 82nd birthday. The Moderator ( expressed the pleasure of the presbytery to see Mr. Hutson there in good health and spirits. Mr. Hutson macle a brief reply. A letter was received from the Mayor of Auckland, Mr. Ernest Davis, notifying that the Moderator of the presbytery had been appointed ex officio to a position, on the Religious Festival SubCommittee of the Centennial Committee. A unanimous call to the Rev. W. J; Pellow from the Oneliunga Church was sustained by the presbytery. It was decided to transmit the call to the South Auckland Presbytery for presentation to Mr.. Pellow. 'She interim moderator of the charge, the' Rev. J. W. McKenzie, presented the call, which was feigned by 151 members of a roll of 215 itnd by 83 adherents. The salary offered was £315, with a manse and one month's holiday. The vacancy was caused by the resignation of the Rev. L. McMaster at the end of August. It was pointed out that the call had been presented on one Sunday only, and the ■ signatures affixed represented 70 per cent' of the congregation. A: detailed' report of the work accomplished at the General Assembly in Christchurch last month was given by the Rev. Murray A. Gow, who read an extensive paper covering all sections of the assembly's activities.
