PENWOMEN'S EVENING.
HAPPY CHRISTMAS PARTY. One of the most enjoyable functions of the year to be held by the members of the Penwomen's Club was the Christmas party which took place last evening. The rooms were decorated in the Christmas spirit with green leaves, masses of scarlet flowers and clusters of balloons, while on the stage, with the Union Jack as a background, was a glittering Christmas tree. The president, Mrs. F. CarrRollett, received the guests. An enjoyable programme was provided for entertainment and those giving items were Miss Kathleen Teapu (elocutionary items), Miss Amy Hansard and Mrs. Wallace Smith (songs), Mrs. Nello Porter and Miss Mary Pilkington (sketch), Miss Nora O'Halloran (dances), Miss Marjorie Featman (mime), Miss Mary Pilkington (sketches) and Mr. Dan Flood (humorous sketches and songs). The programme, which opened with the carol, "Hark, the Herald Angels Sing," and closed with "Noel," was arranged by Mrs. Sidney Smith. Mrs. M. Clark acted as accompanist.
