TRACK GALLOPS.
WORK AT ELLERSLIE. SEVERAL SMART SPRINTS. No. 1 grass track, on which the poles were out 10ft, was available for fast work, and the tan, sand and two-year-old tracks were also open at Ellerslie this morning. The going was in excellent order and there was more galloping than usual. Valspear gave the Musketoon —Foxglove mare a start from the three-furlong post and was holding her comfortably at the •finish in 39 4-ss, the mare taking a second longer. Master Brierly (Goldfinch) and Huntsman's Chorus (Murray) got to the eii'd of six furlongs in 1.18 3-5. They ran ithe first three in 40s and were assisted by Round Up over the last four, which took 52 2-ss. Huntsman's Chorus was a shade in front at the end. Chief Emerald strode over three furlongs in 44s and over a similar distance Glen Abb and Tidewaiter registered -38 2-ss. Gay Broney did useful work, covering his last half-mile in 57 2-ss. His stable mate Jolie Dance reeled off half a mile in 525. This maiden is on the improve. Dialogue was sent six furlongs, being timed to run the last five in 1.6 1-5. He went very evenly throughout, and it was a useful effort. School Song got to' the end of four furlongs in 545. He was not unduly bustled. Big Dook did strong "work over a round, increasing His pace 'over the last three furlongs, which occupied 41 4-ss. Drol had Lady Gainsborough as a companion over three furlongs run in 395. It was Drol's first sprint since coming to Ellerslie and she did her work nicely. Aero King, Manatere and the Llanore filly sprinted three furlongs in 38 2-ss. Aero King covered more ground than the others and his showing was promising. Lady Diana had a lot of speed on when she went away from the half-mile post, and after running the first furlong in 12 3-ss, completed her . task in 51s. After taking 20 2-5s for his first two furlongs, Seven Seas was timed to run five -in 1.5 2-5. It is intended to give this gelding a course of schooling. On the two-year-okl track White Foam reeled off three furlongs in 37 3-ss, running her first furlong in 12 3-ss. Pladie and II Duce were out doing pace work, but Silver Ring was not on the track. However, he worked nicely over a couple of rounds on the tan track yesterday morning. This morning he was doing trotting exercise on the hills. He is looking in first-class order.
